Graham School the High Reviews

Great School. Pulled daughter out of top suburban school and she has been here for 1 year- she is so much happier and much more mature. No drama or rich want to be sort of girls here. Real girls, real boys and great staff of teachers , etc. Great prep for college is found here. LR ,parent

The school is really a rewarding aspect, as it combines academics with experience. But in a few years, with the increasing school enrollment and opening of another college prep school, the idea of free education without a specific curriculum may become a thing of the past.

Our child has been at the Graham School for 3 years.Overall, it has been a challenging and rewarding experience, both academically and socially. The experiential aspect has provided a real world education and an opportunity for mature growth. The class schedule reads like a liberal arts college instead of a high school. The students are treated somewhat like college students, expected to be independent and responsible for classwork/homework. There is plenty of teacher/student interaction, an important aspect lost in most other schools. The opportunity to problem solve in a variety of situations and to be mentored while doing so is probably the most valuable assest.

When I first found out about Graham, I thought I had found my school of my dreams. Students and teachers were open, funny, and charming, which helped me better fit in with the school s community. Shy, I made real friends, flowered and excelled. However, as of recent, the school has become obsessed with structure. The school is becoming more centralized in an effort to keep everyone from failing. Graham is based on learning to take risks and that aspect of the school is being slowly eliminated. Most of the teachers are still outstanding and many people still care about the school and have an idea of what it s about , but I fear they will be gone in a few years. It s still better now, but who knows if it will be in a few years. Anyone who wants to care will do well.

I am a student at Graham and I can honestly say it is better than any other school I could have attended. The teachers are young and caring, and the classes are about things that we actually care about. Because of the unique way Graham is run, by attending work sites every Tuesday and Thursday, stusents gain a sence of maturity and work ethic. We also have control over various parts of out school; we have the power to change rules and make our school a better place for us to be. Students and Teachers alike are all unique in therselves, and we are encouraged to be who we are, we are encouraged to be different and stand out, and its that support that really helps us develop into the people we are becoming, and being more comfertable with that person, while prepareing us for our lives.

Graham is unique in the approach to learning--making the classroom work relevant through experiential learning opportunities. Students at Graham know how to apply their coursework to the real world at every grade level. Every student is important, and the staff is creative and flexible enough to handle all levels of ability, from challenging the gifted to engaging the disillusioned! We love Graham!

Graham is a unique and extraordinary school. It offers its students the chance to experience amazing teachers, a close community and people who care. I am not a parent but a student who attends Graham. I am on my way to Brown University and can say that i could not have achived what i have without the wonderful teachers at Graham. Our classes have names such as States of mind, A comparitive study of religiobn and astronomical physics. Graham is more like a college or large homeschooling group than a public school. Our classes are extensive and thought provoking and our teachers really care about our minds. I have only good things to say about Graham.

it is an amazing school, people are accepting, teachers are great, they are young and interesting, but they also know what they are doing. this is a great school for the unconventional learner or the child who needs something more out of a school.
